56 years of history, culture, resistance, and community.
The first Chicano Park Day was held in 1971 to mark the one-year anniversary of the historic community takeover of the land and to honor the April 22, 1970 occupation of Barrio Logan by residents and activists fighting for their neighborhood. My brother was there, which makes this history feel even more personal.

April 25, 2026 marked the 56th anniversary of Chicano Park Day, and it was an amazing event filled with art, music, culture, and community pride. A beautiful reminder that Chicano Park is more than a place—it’s a symbol of resistance and love for the community.
Take your time exploring this collection of Chicano Park Day 2026.
