Cyanotype is one of the earliest alternative photographic printing processes, first introduced by Sir John Herschel in 1842. Known for its rich Prussian blue tones, cyanotype photography creates striking monochrome images through a simple chemical reaction activated by sunlight or ultraviolet light.
Each cyanotype print is handmade using traditional photographic techniques. The process produces beautiful variations in tone, texture, and detail, giving every print a distinctive character. Even when the same image is printed multiple times, no two cyanotypes are ever exactly alike.
Because of this handcrafted process, every cyanotype becomes a unique piece of photographic art, combining historic photographic methods with contemporary fine art photography.
Take your time exploring these handmade cyanotype photographs.
Fine art cyanotype prints are available.
